Installed from Software Center:

Tested with printer / scanner HP Color LaserJet Pro M478f-9f
Printer works with hplip drivers & plugin on Solus stable
Shared the printer on the host system so it would be seen by the VM (this probably wasn't necessary since I set it up with the IP address)

Printing - pass ✅

• Ran printer detection, printer was detected & automatically setup without issue - ok ✅
• Printed a document, printout looks as expected - ok ✅

HP Device Manager functionality - pass ✅

'No installed HP devices found' - I had this issue on the previous version on my main system before with the version of hplip prior to 3.20.6
This was likely due to the nature of this being a VM
Ran cups, set it up as
hp:/net/HP_Color_LaserJet_Pro_M478f-9f?ip=10.0.0.5

Was now able to see the printer in HP Device Manager - ok ✅

Simple Scan installation and plugin installation prompt - pass ✅

• Installed Simple Scan and ran it. This is what had triggered the HP software to prompt for the plugin installation on my host machine.
• HP scanner was detected automatically - ok ✅
• Plugin installation prompt - ok ✅

Plugin installation - undesired behavior ❌

• Selected 'Download and install the plug-in from an HP authorized server'
• Error 'Unable to receive key from keyserver. Without this you can't verify the plugin. Continue?' (paraphrasing, I accidentally clicked through) - fail ❌
• Driver Plug-in Licence Agreement shown - ok ✅
• Prompted for login to authorize - ok ✅
• Saw a popup Plugin installed OK - ok ✅
• Saw a second popup 'Failed to install Plug-in. Either you have chosen to skip the Plug-in installation or entered incorrect Password.' - fail ❌
